Finding Neverland

It’s strange how hard it is to think for yourself when you’ve been painted into a corner. As children, trusting ourselves above all others isn’t something we’re taught—though perhaps it should be. Cruel words from others can cut deep, but nothing compares to the quiet brutality of our own self-doubt.

A wise man once said, “What you resist, persists.” How true that is. The more we avoid pain, the more it demands to be seen. And the thoughts we let define us—“not good enough,” “not worthy,” “never”—become bars in a cage of our own making.

For years, I lived within the lines someone else drew for me. Lines of limitation. Lines of fear. Even long after I escaped the circumstances of that pain, I remained tethered by the echo of it—believing the lies, obeying the ghosts.

But then came the shift.

I remembered: I am grown. I am free. The world is not a place of “never,” but of infinite possibility. I do not have to live in someone else’s version of my story. That invisible tether snapped—and I stepped beyond it.

Now, I walk into the world not burdened by what I was told I could never be—but empowered by what I choose to become. I’ve found my Neverland... and claimed it as my Forever.
